I did not get a chance to publicly thank Luis and Gloria for being incredible hosts. I think I can speak on behalf of all guests when I say that we were treated like royalty. Amazing facility, lot of nature, great waves, friendly staff, tasty and healthy food and non stop activities. I would not forget to specifically thank Rodrigo, the chef, for cooking such a varied menu; everything was on point. Luis (@surfpicsbyluis ), the surf coach, for teaching everyone the basics of surfing, taking the pictures and always being in a positive mood. The yoga coach for the classes but primarily for the personalized cake she made together with @larscoffee for me. And of course, the Casa Kickapoo staff always keeping things clean and tidy; and having our gis hand-washed after every session. Montreal, Canada

It's hard to even put into words how amazing this vacation was! From the moment I arrived I was welcomed with open arms. From the gracious host and hostess, the amazing chef, the hard working staff, to the awesome surfing instructor....they made me feel like a part of their family. As for the BJJ Instructor Bruno Fernandes....he's a world class guy. I learned so much from him about jiu jitsu, surfing and life. One of the nicest people you will ever meet. Casa Kickapoo very quickly became one of my favorite places that I've ever been too. The beach house was perfect from...the pool, the many hammocks, the accommodations, the beautiful grounds, the location. This was the first time I had taken a solo vacation and I felt very safe the whole time I was there. I would have never guessed El Salvador was as beautiful as it was. The surfing was so great!! I was so happy with the progress I made....they are really great instructors. All in all, this trip was a life changer for me...both physically and mentally. If you love jiu jitsu and/or surfing, you have to visit Casa Kickapoo!! There is no doubt that I will be back for another stay in paradise :)    Winnipeg, Canada

Going to El Salvador for no other reason than to stay at Casa Kickapoo with Luis and Gloria is a worthwhile idea. I simply can't say enough good things about them as hosts, and as human beings in general. They are just the best kind of people. I've been on vacations where I've said, "Wow, they thought of everything"... and then I went to Casa Kickapoo. Talk about raising the bar. Aside from every detail being taken care of--airport pick ups, laundry service, seriously amazing food (Thanks, Rodrigo!), daily cleaning service, optional yoga classes, lots of hammocks and other comfy resting areas, the best surf instructor around (Thanks, other Luis!), the house being fully equipped with anything you need--they also strive to make the experience as wonderful as possible and are always looking for ways to improve. If I was to describe in one word what it felt like staying at Casa Kickapoo, that would be: GRATITUDE. During my 2 weeks’ stay with Luis and Gloria, I felt nothing but joy, contentment, love and excitement. Everything from the food to the entertainment, off site trips, room service, activities, transfers, and many more, was delivered with so much dedication, care and love. I’ve received the finest royal treatment one could wish for, from the minute I got picked-up from the airport to the moment I got dropped-off - a very sad day as I could have easily stayed with them endlessly since it was so easy to forget that I had a life back in London. It felt like forever from the time I booked this camp to finally flying out to El Salvador. In my head I had so many ideas of what it would be like and was worried that I'd got so excited that maybe it wouldn't live up to what I hoped it would be. It didn't, it exceeded them in every way! From the moment I got to Casa Kickapoo I was made to feel completely welcome, Luis and Gloria are the perfect hosts, always smiling, kind and cannot do enough for you. The house and surroundings can only be described as paradise with coconut trees gently swaying in the breeze. Whatever you feel like doing from water skiing or surfing to simply relaxing in the pool or hammocks is catered for. When it's time to train Christian has a way of explaining concepts and themes in ways that are simple, easy to understand and effective. The best way to describe this camp is simply perfect. With so many new friends made and so much time spent laughing I will definitely be coming back in the future. United Kingdom

When I decided to go to El Salvador, I didn't know what to expect. I was anxious, because I was worried that the only people who would be willing to subjugate their bodies to surfing and jiu jitus all day had to be be crazy. And everyone I met in El Salvador was crazy. But they're all the best kind of crazy. I loved every second of my time at Casa Kickapoo. Luis and Gloria are magnificent hosts. Luis the surf instructor had many of us noobs standing on the first day! And Christian is an awesome instructor and person. I had so much fun rolling and trouble shooting jiu jitsu with my fellow nerds and hanging out drinking coconuts in the pool all day. The real camp secret is Rodrigo. He can seriously cook! The best trip I have ever taken. Surfing, training, and eating every meal with people around the world like a giant family. Stayed at beautiful Casa Kickapoo for the Bruno Fernandes jiu jitsu & surf camp. Cleanliness: The property was kept very clean at all times. I'd be up early in the morning with my coffee and there would be someone already maintaining the grounds. Rooms: rooms were maintained very well. When we would be out in the afternoon surfing or doing activity and come back our room would be clean and bed would be made. Service: Definitely a five star. With any dietary concerns or specific requests they always went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. Location: Located on an estuary where you can grab a paddleboard or less than a five minute drive to the beach you can get great surfing in nice warm water. Value: No doubt you receive an exceptional value for what you pay. We had a chef who cooked excellent food including some great local food. Overall: I am going back!! I loved the fresh El Salvador grown coffee every morning. Luis is the owner who goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. A great property that can be used for many occasions. Highly Recommended!!!!!

I've visited Casa Kickapoo for a Surf and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Camp with Prof. Bruno Fernandes. What started as a Solo trip quickly felt like visiting friends and Family, especially after the warm welcome received from the owners, Luis and Gloria. The other guests had all different backgrounds, stories, and became friends after a few days. I was picked up at the airport and got to the house late in the evening, but everyone made sure that I had everything I needed. Gloria, and my lovely roommate even gave me clothes as my backpack was only delivered the following night by the airline. The rooms were clean and in good condition, the food was amazing and chef Rodrigo was happy to accommodate my dietary restriction. The staff really tries to create a memorable experience for every single guest. The daily surf instruction given by ‘Surf Luis’ were really fun and the Jiu Jitsu lessons were worth every penny.
