Doug.: Great Active Vacation
Luis and his staff make everyone feel like family, not a guest. The location is great and many times I thought I was in South Florida and not El Salvador. No one should miss the opportunity to attend a bjj camp here.

Cutter C.: This the family you never knew you belonged to
By the time I arrived I had corresponded with Luis, the owner a few times, and felt as if I knew him. A few of the other guest and I were picked up at the airport. It was late in the night but Luis and Gloria greeted us at the door of Casa Kickapoo. For the rest of the week I never once felt like a customer or guest of Casa Kickapoo. I felt like I was the guest of Luis and Gloria, my friends. I guess it is true that you have friends you just have not met yet. The surfing instruction from «the other Luis» was great as were the waves. The Jiu-Jitsu instruction from Prof. Bruno Fernandes was worth every nickel. It was a great experience. You show up with a bunch of strangers, but you leave with a bunch of new friends. Everyone has a story., This is the kind of place where you get to know people, hear their story, and learn allot about yourself. I am looking forward to next year. It will be like visiting family.

Scott P.: One of my favorite vacations!
I attended the BJJ Globetrotter Jiu Jitsu camp. In February the temperature is a mild 80-85 degrees with a nice cooling breeze. The gracious owners of the house Luis and Gloria are two people who don’t stop smiling and really aim to provide everything they can. You can really tell they care about the quality and upkeep of their house due to the wonderful staff under their employment. The Chef Rodrigo cooks the most amazing food, surf instructor Luis literally became one of the boys and just did whatever we wanted be it surfing, jet ski’ing, playing some guitar or hunting down surf spots an hour away. The house is amazing, lots of hammocks, a wonderful view of the estuary, AC in every room, a pool, outdoor shower. Pickup and dropoff from the Airport was a breeze, EVERYTHING was taken care of on this trip down to the final details. I look forward to going back as soon as possible!

Mark D.: Paradise- jiu jitsu, surfing, beautiful place!
Casa Kickapoo is exactly what you’d want in a retreat-like getaway in a beach paradise: secluded, private and cozy living and lounge areas with easy access to the water in both directions (beach on one side, estuary on the other). It’s top notch when it comes to lounging and comfort. You’ll really want for nothing, and be very happy to lay in a hammock next to the estuary, It’s a bonus (and where they shine) if you’re into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or Surfing, as the owners built the place as a shrine to both sports and lifestyles. If you know anything about either sport, you know there’s a certain laid back and comfortable attitude in each sport, and that is really present in every corner of Casa Kickapoo. It’s truly a labor of love with the hosts, as everyone couldn’t be more friendly and professional. I could wax poetics on and on, but I can’t recommend Casa Kickapoo enough. Never once was I concerned for my safety (as is often the question when El Salvador is part of the conversation), nor did I ever have trouble navigating the area around Casa Kickapoo. When I say there’s no reason to leave, it’s because they really do everything so well that you wouldn’t want to (food, entertainment, amenities, etc). Don’t expect to go to the area to party and get into a vibrant nightlife, you bring the party with you at Casa Kickapoo (if that’s your thing). I liked the rest and relaxation between jiu jitsu and the ocean myself, so no party necessary for me. It’s a place best done with a group, or to go with a few people and just indulge in surfing and beach living. However, I could certainly see myself wanting to return solo just to retreat for a few days to lounge around.

Mason C.: Felt like I had always been there
It was very hard to leave and still in recovery after my departure. Recovery from missing it and knowing it’s a truly genuine experience with genuine people. Everything and everyone felt so real and personal.

Aaron S.: Best Private Beach Rental Property – Surf’s Up!
Accommodations exceeded my expectations on all levels. Luis and Gloria were terrific people to rent from. A great house to escape from reality. I traveled with 18 people and the bedrooms were air-conditioned, comfortable, and clean. The main property and house was perfect to relax in. Hammocks, comfortable lounging and eating areas, a great waterfront on an inlet of the Pacific with a pier and gazebo. Great views. A 3 minute walk brings you to a private beach right on the Pacific with amazing surfing for all levels, or just a great beach to play in the waves. 40 yards of perfect sand to the ocean, a look up and down the beach for miles with no one else around. Sunrises and Sunsets are out of this world.

Bettina S.: Two weeks in paradise!
I stayed in Casa Kickapoo for two weeks and it was the most relaxing vacation I ever had. The house is really beautiful and situated directly on the waterfront of the Estuary. It is a two minutes walk to the beach. A lovely private pier with hammocks and chairs is a perfect place to hang out and enjoy the beautiful view of the volcano. The rooms are great, large and very comfortable beds and private bathroom, all were perfectly clean. The rest of the house has enough space for everyone to hang out together, play games, ping pong or watch TV or find a more private spot to relax. Various hammocks are perfect for a nap or even to sleep a night outside. The beach is vast and empty, the waves perfect for beginners to surf or bodyboard. The food was just amazing and a reason in itself to come back. The staff is amazing and takes very good care of the house and its guests. I did not need to lift a finger. Luis is the perfect host. He welcomed me like an old friend and I felt at home the second I arrived. If you stay in Casa Kickapoo, you will fall in love with the place and people there!

Craig F.: Simply Amazing!
Casa Kickapoo is an amazing place. Every day there were expertly prepared meals, surfing lessons and various other activities. And of course the daily necessity of chilling in a hammock with a fresh coconut. There wasn’t a single moment I didn’t enjoy during my stay. Luis and Gloria really make you feel at home in their tropical paradise. I would recommend this experience to anyone I know and I look forward to visiting Casa Kickapoo again in the future. Two thumbs way up.

Mark V.: Amazing place with amazing people!
I booked my trip 9 months in advance so I had plenty of time to read all the reviews and look at all the images of Casa Kickapoo. From the moment I was collected from the airport and throughout my 2 weeks stay every moment was special and my hosts could not do enough for me and my friends. The layout of the house and location plus the amazing food and the warmth of the people made this trip I will always treasure. Thanks for the memories.

I went the first week in February, and I can say is that every time I walked outside it felt like paradise. I can’t wait to go back and see everyone, they were all super warm and welcoming and it felt like my second home.
