Welcome to Casa Kickapoo

You don’t have to spend a fortune to have a memorable vacation. You also don’t need to travel half way around the world to find the unique travel experiences most demanding travelers seek these days.
El Salvador was one of Lonely Planet’s “Top 10 Destinations for 2010″ for a reason. Although many stories still surface about our troubled past, seasoned travelers know better. Being the smallest country in Central America has its advantages: you can be surfing at dawn and racing downhill at dusk.
We pride ourselves in providing safe, exciting and enduring travel experiences that are sure to last a lifetime. If you are like us, we figure most people nowadays would rather go on a vacation and spend their time on something more meaningful and rewarding than just sipping margaritas by the pool.
Casa Kickapoo specializes in instructional vacation packages regardless of ability level – our guests can learn from scratch or improve on their skills. Our professional instructors and guides not only know their stuff, but their passion is obvious and contagious.
Most of our guests become our friends and keep coming back year after year. We hope you become our friend. We would like the opportunity to show you how beautiful El Salvador and its people are.

Savings Lives Through Prevention

Overpopulation of stray dogs and cats is a major problem in our country and it is no different at our beach community. You don't need to drive much on any of the highways to spot countless animal carcasses lying on the side of the roads. This is a horrible site to look at that never fails to leave us feeling very sad and helpless.

We always felt the need to get involved, but were not sure how to go about it. The challenges to overcome seemed far too complex when reaching out to poor, uneducated rural communities focused on survival themselves.

Our luck changed when by chance we met Dr. Natalia Amaya and her team of volunteering vets. With their leadership, commitment and passion we started planning and implementing what became our first in-house sponsored spay & neuter campaign held on April 2015.

We still have a long way to go, but we are very excited our combined efforts proved successful. There is a lot of hard work ahead; education is a must - especially when trying to break through cultural misconceptions such as 'male castration'.

Aside from our planned future spaying and adoption campaigns, we are trying to figure out a viable and affordable solution to make Heartworm medication available in our area. The disease is transmitted by mosquitoes and infected animals suffer a slow and painful death that is easily preventable. This is a major problem in our community, as we are told Heartworm disease is only found in El Salvador at Costa del Sol.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you would like to get involved! We sure need all the help we can get!
